Recognise the symptoms of heart failure

Heart failure can be difficult to recognise because the signs of the disease may be similar to other conditions. Some people may experience symptoms without realising that they might signal heart failure. Or they assume the symptoms are just a natural part of getting older.

Common symptoms can include:

  • Shortness of Breath
  • Persistent Coughing
  • Ankle Swelling
  • Fatigue and weakness
  • Difficulty Performing everyday activities such as climbing stairs or walking
  • Problems concentating or staying alert.

This is not a complete list of possible symptoms of Heart Failure. It’s important to speak to your doctor if you’re experiencing some of the symptoms mentioned above, as they might be an indication of heart failure. If you do have heart failure, early diagnosis and treatment can be essential to your wellbeing.
